Why I Took a Break from Instagram

Why I Took a Break from Instagram

Let me start by saying, Instagram isn’t bad. It can be a source of inspiration and a great way to connect with other like minded people.

But instagram, if left unchecked, can have a negative impact on our mental wellbeing. And that’s what I’ve noticed happening with me and my PERSONAL Instagram account recently.

I had to take a moment and ask myself:

  • What destroys my peace?

  • What protects my peace?

  • What would happen if I let those things go?

Why?

Because of some of these reasons...

  1. Instagram can be a comparison trap

Not really the biggest problem Instagram causes for me, I’ll go into that later. This used to be a problem for me though with my Business Instagram. I would:

  • Compare other business owner achievements

  • Compare likes

  • Compare lifestyle & money

  • Compare communities

  • Compare where THEY are to where I was

I would like to remind you about a quote by Brene Brown, “Stay in your lane. Comparison kills creativity and joy.” This couldn't be more true.

How to Recognize & Avoid Business Burnout

How to Recognize & Avoid Business Burnout

Burnout is a big problem in the online business world.

I've been through it. I've seen a LOT of my friends go through it. I've even seen a lot of million dollar online business owners go through it, where they've had so much work and they’ve worked so hard that they are verbally told by a doctor that they cannot work at all anymore. Some have even had to take an entire year off because their burnout has been so serious.

Let’s be real here - you can’t afford to take an ENTIRE YEAR off.

Yet a lot of solopreneurs are heading in that direction.

Why?

Because they don't really realize that they are burned out. It’s one of those things you don’t give much attention to until it’s suddenly happening to you.

What to Do When You Want to Invest in Your Business but You Don’t Have the Money

What to Do When You Want to Invest in Your Business but You Don’t Have the Money

Sometimes we say to ourselves...

“I want to join a course, hire a virtual assistant or a coach... but I don’t make enough money to invest in my business yet.”

And I get that. A lot of us want to invest in ourselves and our businesses but we feel like we can’t because of our finances.

I remember making my first big financial investment in my business and it was freakin’ scary!

It was a $500 course and I remember thinking, “that’s SO much money, I’ve never spent this much money on something like this before. What if it isn’t worth it? What if I know everything it teaches already? What if I don’t even use it? What if there’s something more important I should be spending money on?”

It was scary investing $500 in my business (and therefore myself.)

But I was able to understand that I could afford to invest in myself…

I was just scared to let go of that money because I was too focused on temporarily losing that financial investment, and not focused on what I would gain from the investment.

Behind the Scenes of My 3 Day Workweek

Behind the Scenes of My 3 Day Workweek

I have a secret that, when revealed on my Instagram Story a while ago, blew peoples mind.

Ready for it?!

I only work 3 days a week.

Yep! But here’s where it gets interesting…

I make more money working 3 days a week than when I worked 5 days a week.

If you’re curious how I made that happen, listen to this episode using the player above or read this episode below!

We’ll cover exactly how I made sure my profits went up even though my work hours went down, how you can do the same thing, the planners I use to help me be super productive on the days I do work, and so much more.
