What Starting a Vlog Reminded Me About Unsubscribes, Unfollows & Haters

(Pre-ps: I have 3 x 1:1 coaching spots available. Learn more here.)

I've owned my business for 11 years now so I've developed a pretty thick skin when it comes to unsubscribes, unfollows, and rude or hateful messages.

But starting a personal vlog was a whole different ball game!

When I'm sharing my business beliefs, thoughts and concepts I can detach from what people think of them. But sharing my life, challenges, personality and relationship through a vlog is a lot more intimate - and when I first started, I battled with a fear of being disliked by people online. A fear of what people thought of me.

If you...

  • make unfollows or unsubscribes mean something about you, your work and your business.

  • stop yourself from putting your work and business out there because you're afraid of what people will think.

  • have core beliefs of not being "good enough" that are seeping into your business

Then this episode is for you.

We'll discuss

  • Why it's not your job to be likable. It's your job to be yourself.

  • 3 reminders for when you feel scared to put yourself & your work out into the online world.

  • Why people unfollow you (it's not what you think).

2 Goal Setting Mindset Shifts That Will Transform the Way You Plan Your Business

Setting big business goals can be scary... especially when they are money goals.

If you're someone who values things like lifestyle, family, health and time more than money then you may find it difficult to understand why you'd even set a big money goal.

Does setting big money goals make you materialistic? Greedy?

Do they mean you will have to hustle and spend all of your time working? Neglecting your health, family and wellbeing?

In this podcast episode I do my best to answer those questions and provide a balanced approach to goal-setting.

You'll learn:

  • Why achieving your big goal is not the point of setting them.

  • How to overcome limiting money mindsets

  • What Enough goals and Stretch goals are

  • Why you should pick a goal and then detach from it and focus on the process, making that your goal.

Don’t Have Time to Turn Your Dreams & Goals Into Reality? This Is for You

This is probably one of my most important podcast episodes of all time.

 Whether you are someone who:

1. Wants to start an online business but you have a full-time job and don't know where you'll find the time, or...

2. Already have an online business and want to launch a course, pivot target market or do something else that's going to take time...

You've probably thought: I have limited time, limited energy, and no guarantee this idea will even work out. So... is it worth my time?!

Lack of time isn't what is holding you back.

And neither is a lack of certainty in how "worthwhile" your idea is.

It's fear of failure that's holding you back.

 In today's episode, you'll learn:

- Why heart-centered business goals are worth pursuing even if your circumstances mean it'll take you a while to reach them.

- Why moving slowly is NOT a reason to not take action towards the thing you want.

-  How to find the courage to take steps towards something that could fail, and why you should.

- How to push through fear of failure

5 Hard Truths That Will Make It Easier to Run Your Online Business

Running a business can be simple, but it isn't easy.

You're not just the service provider. You're also the marketer, customer service rep, admin assistant, graphic designer, website designer, social media manager and more.

On top of that, you also carry a lot of hidden responsibilities, like:

  • Making all the decisions in your business

  • Being solely responsible for paying your wage or providing for yourself/your family. No monthly pay slip to count on!

  • Difficult clients

  • Dealing with comparison, imposter syndrome, fear & limiting business beliefs

  • Work/life balance

It can feel HARD.

And many business owners make it even harder for themselves by choosing NOT to accept the five hard truths I'm sharing in today's podcast episode.

These 5 truths are facts of business that are difficult to accept but if you don't, it'll make you feel like you're doing something wrong, like other business owners have something you don't, and like you suck at business.

But if you DO accept these five things simply as FACTS of entrepreneurship, the hard parts of business will no longer serve as sticks to beat yourself with and simply become things you know every business owner has to deal with sometimes.

Tune in to find out what the five hard facts are.

You May Be Sabotaging Your Own Business. Here’s How.

Scaling our businesses almost always requires us to step out of our comfort zone and into some discomfort. Discomfort is a requirement for growth. You've heard me say this before and I even recorded a podcast episode about it! (Ep 60)

But it isn't always wise to step into too much discomfort at once.

And some business owners may be in a season where it isn't wise to step into discomfort at all.

Before we can scale our businesses successfully (without self-sabotage), we have to make sure we do so from a foundation of safety. It's only when we feel a sense of safety within our businesses and nervous systems that we can scale from a calm, confident place.

When we try to scale from a place of fear, pressure or anxiety we just trigger ourselves into fight, flight or freeze which doesn't take our business where we want it to go, it just deteriorates our mental health and confidence.

So today let's have a chat about safety before scaling. I'm going to tell you about a time in my own business where I tried scaling without safety, what happened, and how I rebuilt some safety into my business so that you can see how you may be able to build it into yours.
