How I Create Content Without Burning Out

If you feel that batching your Instagram content (especially some of your stories!) doesn't feel authentic then I have some tough love for you today (and I genuinely do say it with love because I want to see you succeed in content creation & business without burning out) 👉

What’s authentic about scrambling for new content ideas every day?

It’s like saying someone’s diet isn’t authentic because they meal prep on Sunday’s instead of cooking every single meal from scratch every day. What does authenticity have to do with it? They're just working smarter, not harder.

❌ Batching content doesn't mean you can’t and won’t post spontaneously anymore.

It just means you're not relying solely on spontaneity as your “strategy.” Now, your spontaneous posts complement your content strategy instead of being the entire strategy.

There are underlying limiting beliefs we should address here if you feel icky about batching your content...

Limiting Belief 1: Authenticity Equals Spontaneity

Authenticity is more about being true to your values and message, regardless of when the content was created. As I mentioned earlier - you can still post spontaneously! But now, if you have nothing to contribute to your niche for a while then you can step back and your content will still consistently publish because you batched a bunch of it.

(If you're not sure how to get started with content batching, try my step-by-step system >>)

Limiting Belief 2: Work Has to Be Hard to Be Successful

People with this belief might think that creating content should be difficult and time-consuming to count as "real work." While seasons of hard work are essential, if it’s your default mode then you’ll burn out eventually.

Limiting Belief 2: Constantly Being Busy = Success

If you subconsciously think being busy all the time = success, you might see batching content as taking shortcuts. But real success isn’t about how much you’re hustling; it’s about being productive and authentic without burning yourself out.

Limiting Belief 4: Productivity Equals Self-Worth

This belief is all about tying your value to how much you do and how hard you work. People with this mindset might feel guilty or lazy for batching content because it allows them to be productive without the constant grind.

If you relate to any of those, don't worry. Limiting beliefs can be rewritten.

In the whirlwind of daily life, finding the time and energy to consistently engage with your audience on social media can feel like a daunting task. Between juggling school runs, grocery shopping, client work, the 9-5 grind, and a myriad of other responsibilities, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the thought of crafting captivating Instagram stories every. Single. Darn. Day.

But fear not! I've mastered a simple yet effective method to nurture and sell on my Instagram story in just 2 minutes a day, and today, I'm excited to share my strategy with you.

After creating and implementing my system consistently, my IG story views have 8’xd on great days, 6x’d on good days, and 3x’d on OK days. I’m still monitoring this and obviously the results change day to day. But below is a screenshot of what I was averaging before which was not great, and what I average on a “good” day now.

I was still securing 4-figure clients from my story with only 250 people watching on average (proof you don’t need huge numbers to get buyers from your story!), but I knew I could do better.

But my stories now generate daily digital product sales, as well as the posts on my feed. (You can learn how I batch 1 month of Instagram content in 1 day here.)

Here’s how I sell on my Instagram story in just 2 minutes a day:

1. Themed Days:

Say goodbye to the stress of wondering what to post on your stories each day. By implementing themed days, you'll always know exactly what content to share. For instance, designate Fridays as Q&A days, offering your followers the invaluable opportunity to receive free advice or critiques directly from you, or ask you about your work.

2. Content Folders:

Organization is key. I have three folders filled with content tailored for my stories:

  • Personal Life: Candid glimpses into my everyday experiences & relationship.

  • Selfies: Authentic snaps of me working, on a muddy walk, out for dinner, etc!

  • Social Proof/Testimonials: Screenshots of messages my students send me about the results they get from my digital products or programs.

3. Batch 1 Month of Stories in 1 Day

Efficiency is the name of the game. Just as I batch one month's worth of regular posts in a single day (interested in learning how? Check out my Content Batching Blueprint!), I also dedicate a day to batch creating one month of Instagram stories.

Here's my process:

  • I have a checklist that breaks down each themed day into about 5 themed STORIES of the day.

  • Then I follow my step-by-step checklist and create the stories outlined for each themed day. I create 1 month of Monday stories first, then 1 month of Tuesday stories, and so on.

  • By 4pm I have a whole month of Instagram stories! Then I schedule them. After that, my scheduling tool notifies me when it’s time to post and I spend 2 mins a day posting my pre-made stories.

Of course, spontaneity still plays a role in my storytelling. I believe in sharing genuine, real-time moments with my community on my story. However, with a story batching system in place, spontaneous stories add personality and foster connection rather than being the cornerstone of my strategy.

Ready to Streamline Your Storytelling?

If you're eager to implement my step-by-step story batching system, complete with customizable templates, check out Story Sprint! My 30-minute class will teach you in-depth how to batch 1 month of stories that sell in 1 DAY.

With this approach, you can reclaim precious time and energy while maintaining an engaging and authentic presence on Instagram. Say goodbye to daily story stress and hello to effortless storytelling success! (I hope the rhyming didn’t sound TOO cheesy there 😜)

How to Create 1 MONTH of Instagram Content in 1 DAY

So you’re a freelance web designer, VA, copywriter, social media manager, or other kind of online service provider and you want to get clients from Instagram.

You’ve heard about how I gained 10 clients, countless course sales and 7000 new followers by posting consistently again on my dead business account for the last 6 months.

You’ve even heard about how a student of mine got 3 new retainer clients from Instagram just by (a) implementing the niche + messaging module of my program to make her messaging more specific, and (b) posting consistently on Instagram for 6 weeks. (For her, that’s $2400 extra each month btw!)

But…

Are you tired of the constant struggle to keep up with the demand for fresh content on Instagram?

Do you find yourself spending hours each day trying to come up with new ideas for posts, only to feel overwhelmed and burnt out? Like you’re running on a never-ending hamster wheel?

Maybe you still have a 9-5 job. Or you’re a parent. Or you have a chronic illness. How are you going to even find TIME to post consistently on Instagram?

You're not alone. In today's fast-paced digital world, creating consistent content can feel like an uphill battle. But what if I told you there's a better way?

Are you struggling with managing your online business on Instagram? Do you find yourself overwhelmed and burnt out by the constant demand for content creation? Perhaps you haven't even started your business yet, but the thought of marketing on IG feels daunting.

Identifying the Struggle

  • Feeling the pressure to stay consistent on Instagram, but finding it incredibly challenging.

  • Struggling to come up with engaging content ideas and resorting to last-minute posts.

  • Spending hours crafting a single post only to get 5 likes, 3 unfollows and 0 clients.

Does any of this sound familiar? If so, you're not alone. Many online service providers face similar challenges when it comes to managing their presence on Instagram.

The Real Solution

Jumping ship to another marketing platform might seem tempting, but the truth is, marketing requires effort, consistency, and patience, regardless of the platform. Instead of seeking instant results, it's time to focus on sustainable solutions.

Sustainable Strategies:

  1. Establish a Consistent Posting Schedule: Avoid burnout by maintaining a sustainable posting routine that doesn't compromise your well-being.

  2. Embrace Content Batching: Create 1 month's worth of content in just 1 day. Imagine only needing to focus on Instagram content creation 12 times a year!

Introducing: The Content Batching Blueprint

Yesterday, I launched a new digital product designed to address these exact challenges: The Content Batching Blueprint.

What is The Content Batching Blueprint?

It's a 30-minute video training accompanied by templates, ready-made processes, and plug-and-play content ideas. This blueprint empowers you to batch a month's worth of IG content in just one day or spread across three days, depending on your preference.

What you'll learn:

  • Efficient content batching techniques to save time and energy.

  • Sustainable posting schedules to prevent burnout.

  • Recommended tools to streamline your content creation process.

  • Strategies for repurposing content to maximize engagement.

You’ll also get:

  • Content Batching Checklists (1-day and 3-day options).

  • Content Calendar Template.

  • The Repurposing Guide.

  • The B-Roll Shot List.

Templates available in Notion, Google Sheets, and CSV formats!

“Can I really create 1 month of content in 1 day?!”

Your initial content batch may require additional time to set up systems and materials outlined in the blueprint.

The blueprint includes a 1-day process and a 3-day process. But it might take you longer depending on your circumstances and content creation experience. Take as long as you need! Even if you can only batch 2 weeks of content, it’s better to batch 2 weeks of it than think of something to post each day.

Article

Ever feel like you're pouring your heart and soul into Instagram, only to get a handful of likes and a couple of unfollows in return? Trust me, I've been there. The struggle is real, and it's easy to question if it's all worth it.

In this week's episode, I'm peeling back the layers of my Instagram journey over the past six months.

I’ve been posting for 11 years but in 2023 I took a break for a few months. I probably posted about once a month during that time (but I showed up on stories about 4x a week.) As a result, it reeeeally damaged my reach when I returned!

In August/September, I made a conscious decision to prioritize consistent posting on Instagram, and I’m pleased with the results!

I hope this encourages you - whether you have a dead account or you’re starting a new one.

Results

  • 10 Clients

  • (Unknown number of course sales)

  • 7000 New Followers

  • 1303+ New Email Subscribers

  • Over 100 Sign-ups to the waitlist for The Content Batching Blueprint, from just a couple of posts and stories so far.

Client Success Story:

One of my students experienced a significant breakthrough after getting more specific with her messaging and then posting consistently for 6 weeks.

Within 6 weeks of consistent posting on Instagram, she secured 3 new retainer clients adding an extra $2400 to her income per month, and booked discovery calls with 3 more potential clients too!

Why Consistency Matters:

  1. Establishes reliability: Consistent posting establishes your presence and reliability on the platform, showing your audience that you're committed to providing value regularly. Subconsciously, this signals trustworthiness.

  2. Increases Visibility: The Instagram algorithm favors accounts that post consistently, boosting your chances of appearing in your followers' feeds and reaching new audiences. I’ve noticed recently that my posts reach is increasing overall, and engagement has been good even on lower performing posts.

  3. Strengthens Brand Identity: Regular posting allows you to reinforce your brand message, aesthetic, and values, making your brand more recognizable and memorable to your audience. Think about the last person you considered buying from. The last person I thought about buying from appearing in my feed every day with her story, her post, or both.

  4. Engagement and Community Building: Consistent posting encourages engagement from your followers, leading to conversations, comments, and shares. This engagement helps foster a sense of community around your brand. Building a community is important - it produces repeat clients, true fans, and even when some of them might never buy from you, they’ll often support you in other ways like sharing your content or engaging with it. I have people in my community who have been here for 8-11 years and still hire me as their coach and join my products and programs. When you build a community on IG, you’re investing in building an audience who will CONTINUALLY invest in YOU.

  5. Increases your chance of getting clients and sales: The more you can be seen on IG, the more chance you have of someone hiring you from your content. This doesn’t mean you need to post every day or multi times a day, but you also shouldn’t just post once or twice here and there. A lot of my clients reach for a happy medium, like 4 or 5 posts a week, sometimes 3. And with my content batching system, you can create all of these posts in 1 day each month. That means you only sit down to create IG content 12 times a year. Then set it and almost forget it.

  6. Opportunity for Experimentation and Learning: Regular posting allows you to experiment with different content types, captions, hooks, content anchors and content pillars - providing valuable insights into what resonates best with your audience.

  7. Consistent Growth: By posting consistently, you steadily start attracting new followers and expanding your reach over time. Because the more consistent you are, the more you learn about what your audience does and does not like. And with every lesson you learn, you can apply it to create more and better content.

The Solution: the Content Batching Blueprint

On March 21st, I'm launching The Content Batching Blueprint, a video training + templates designed to help you batch 1 month of IG content in just 1 day.

There's also a 3-day option for those who prefer to spread out the tasks.

  • Inside CBB, you'll receive:

    • 30 days of plug’n’play viral hooks

    • A sustainable posting schedule

    • 1-day and 3-day content batching checklists

    • An Instagram content calendar

    • 30-minute video training

Cracking the Consistency Code on Instagram: A Guide to Staying Sane

Ah, consistency – the dreaded C word that sends shivers down the spines of many online business owners. It's a common tale: dive into an Instagram marketing strategy, wait for the viral posts, expect the cash flow, and when it doesn't happen overnight, throw in the towel. The disappointment sets in, the energy drains, and the dream of a thriving online business takes a hit.

In today's episode, let's tackle this elusive consistency on Instagram – how to achieve it without burning out and without letting content control your life.

Before we dive in, don't forget to check out the link in the description for my free guide on turning followers into consistent clients and unlocking the secret to 5-10k months with just 3-day work weeks.

Now, let's set the record straight – this isn't a quick fix. Running a business, especially in the realm of marketing, is not a walk in the park. It's challenging, and that's what makes it rewarding. If you're expecting results without putting in the work, the traditional nine-to-five might be a better fit. However, in the online business world, we can simplify things and work smarter, not harder, even though hard work is inevitable.

The Reality Check: Stress and Burnout

Stress and burnout are part of the human experience, just like facing challenges is an integral part of business. You can't live in stress, but you can't avoid seasons of it. Embrace it as a phase, not a permanent state. Now, let's explore how to make consistent posting on Instagram a bit more manageable.

Disclaimer: This episode won't magically make posting easy, but it will provide practical tips to simplify the process.

How to Post Consistently on Instagram without Burning Out

  1. Content Batching System: Design a system that works for you – whether it's one day a month, three days a month, or even seven mornings a month dedicated to creating content. By spending focused time, you can create content for the entire month, saving energy and eliminating daily content creation stress. Even stories can be batched using certain scheduling apps.

CTA: Interested in mastering the art of content batching? Check out my guidebook – The Content Batching Blueprint – and learn how to batch one month of Instagram content in just three days.

  2. No Beating Yourself Up: Your system is a tool, not a stick to beat yourself with. If you only manage to batch two weeks of content instead of a full month, that's still a win. The key is that having a system will help you accomplish more than without one. Don't stress about perfection; focus on progress.

  3. Sustainable Schedule: Find a posting schedule that you can sustainably stick to. The sweet spot might be around four posts a week, but the crucial factor is consistency. If you can post more, fantastic! If not, work with what you have.

CTA: Speaking of consistency, I'm transforming my mastermind program, The Simple Business Builder, into a self-study course. Join the waitlist below for an exclusive bonus when doors open.

  4. Repurpose Your Wins: Make your life easier by repurposing old, high-performing content. It's okay to repeat yourself; in fact, it reinforces your key messages. Repurposing saves time and provides value to new followers without the constant need for new content creation.

  5. Consistent, Not Constant: Understand that consistent doesn't mean constant. As long as you're on the ball more often than not, you're on the right track.

Remember, the journey to consistent posting on Instagram may not be a walk in the park, but with the right strategies, you can make it a manageable and rewarding process. Until next time, happy posting!
