3 ways to find your next clients (The Minimalist Marketing Trifecta)

I am neurodivergent - my brain does not work like a typical brain. And sometimes that means I get easily overwhelmed, I don't like complicated systems, and I have a visceral CRAVING for simplicity.

Maybe you're neurodivergent, maybe you're not. Maybe you just have a lot on your plate and prefer to keep business simple too. Work Smarter, Not Harder as everyone says.

Enter... The Minimal Marketing Trifecta.

If you:

  • Feel like no one buys anymore. Your inbox is as dry as the sahara desert and your bank account is starting to dry up too.

  • Feel like you should be marketing in All The Places, doing All The Things. A bit like throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks.

  • Struggle to create or stick to an actual marketing strategy for longer than a few weeks.

  • Rely mainly on referrals to bring new clients your way.

  • Feel overwhelmed by marketing. Especially Instagram - it takes you hours just to write one post that gets 7 likes and 0 comments!

  • Sometimes daydream about quitting it all and just getting a simple job in a coffee shop.

You're not alone.

But marketing doesn't have to feel overwhelming, it can be as simple as the 3-part strategy I'm sharing in today's episode.

Imagine implementing my Minimalist Marketing Trifecta and...

Your dream clients come knocking down your digital door.

You started getting booked out for the first time in forever. First for one month, then two, then six!

You start making $5K+ a month consistently.

Your services sell out so fast that you have to raise your prices because the demand is high!

That could be you in 2024.

3 ways to find your next clients (The Minimalist Marketing Trifecta)

In the world of online business, it's tempting to simplify and streamline your marketing efforts by focusing on just one strategy. After all, simplicity is key, right? That IS what I preach from this podcast, The Simple Business Show.

Well, it can be, but putting all your eggs in one basket can be a risky move. That's where the Minimalist Marketing Trifecta comes into play.

1. Instagram - The Connection

First up, we have Instagram. This platform is a powerful tool for building connections with your audience. But here's the kicker: it's not about posting just anything; it's about creating content that resonates with your ideal clients. That creates an emotional connection. This is done by:

  • Leaning into who YOU are and what makes YOU unique.

  • Having a Super Niche and specific, consistent messaging.

  • Sharing your work, your social proof and testimonials, educational content, but ALSO your stories. Because nothing connects people more than stories.

In the Minimalist Marketing Trifecta (which is what I’m calling this marketing strategy btw) I recommend posting at least 4 posts a week.

I lean towards making reels because 81% of my audience prefers them, and I’ve seen reels bring in more new followers for my account and many others.

But for some accounts it’s different. So if carousels, for instance, perform better for you then stick with that! Thankfully, reels and carousels both have a 0.61 or 0.62% engagement rate on Instagram. So one is no better than the other, it comes down to what you + your audience prefers. Poll your followers and find out!

2. Email - The Automated Relationship Builder

Next, we have email marketing. Email is a tried-and-true method of building lasting relationships with your audience. But we're not talking about sending the occasional newsletter. To keep it simple and effective, set up an automated email funnel that delivers value consistently over time.

Imagine having 6 months to 1 year's worth of emails ready to go, nurturing your subscribers and guiding them towards becoming loyal clients. With automation, you can focus on your business while your email funnel does the heavy lifting of building those connections.

3. Referrals - Turning Clients into Your Biggest Advocates

Referrals are a goldmine waiting to be tapped. When your clients are thrilled with your services, they become your best marketing assets. In the Minimalist Marketing Trifecta, we emphasize the importance of streamlining your client process. Make it so professional and exceptional that your clients can't help but sing your praises.

Happy clients become your biggest advocates, referring you to friends, colleagues, and anyone who will listen. When your reputation is solid, word-of-mouth marketing can drive a steady stream of new clients your way.

Bonus: Borrowing Audiences - Expand Your Reach

Once you have the Minimalist Marketing Trifecta running smoothly, consider adding one more strategy if you have the capacity for it (or a team member to take over the logistics of it.)

Borrowing other people's audiences is a fantastic way to expand your reach. You can do this through podcast guesting, joint venture webinars, collaborations, and more. These opportunities allow you to tap into established communities and introduce your expertise to a wider audience.

Incorporating these three (four with the bonus) components into your marketing strategy can help you work smarter, not harder. They create a well-rounded approach that leverages the power of different channels, ensuring that you're not reliant on a single source for client acquisition.

So, whether you're neurodivergent, crave simplicity, or simply prefer a straightforward approach to business, the Minimalist Marketing Trifecta can be your guide to finding your next clients consistently and building that $5-10k/month online business, all while working just 3 days a week.
