So, picture this: you're posting content on your Instagram story, but barely any of your followers are watching. You start to wonder if putting energy into making daily stories is even worth it. Sound familiar? Well, fear not, because I've got a little trick up my sleeve that's been working wonders for me lately.

Full transparency: I didn’t “invent” this strategy. In fact, I’ve seen three posts on Instagram talking about this in the past. By the time I saw it for the third time, I wanted to give it a try but with my own spin. (I’ll share the difference between the strategy in the post I saw vs what I do later.)

Before I tell you about what I did to increase my story views, let me tell you: my views were dooooown.

I have 36.8K followers. According to Rival IQ, accounts with 10-50K followers should have 2.6% of them watching their story. So my views should have been around 956 on average.

And if you have less than 10k followers btw, your story should reach approximately 6.5% of your audience.

Now, this one strategy helped me not just reach 956 views, but go beyond that to the 1300-2000 mark. On a great day, I can get 2000+ views, on a good day I can get 1300, on an OK I can get 3x what I used to average.

Image of Instagram reach metrics before and after

Before I dive into the one strategy that has helped me do this, you should know that I have a new masterclass called Story Sprint which teaches you how to batch 1 month of stories in 1 day.

People join every day and are loving it. It saves them ever having to ask “what do I post on my story today that will make sales or attract inquiries?”

And the cool thing is that it’s only the cost of one dinner date. That’s all that is between you and an endless stream of sales and clients that come from your story without you actively having to create it every day.

How I 8xd my story views

Here's the scoop: on my story, I've been asking people to reply with a special word if they want access to something juicy, something that I haven’t shared elsewhere yet.

Now, here's where the magic happens. I use a nifty little tool called Manychat to set up the automation.

Manychat is an automation tool that allows people to comment on your posts with a certain word and then automatically receive a DM from you.

But why does this simple strategy boost your views? Well, let me break it down. The Instagram story algorithm absolutely adores it when people are REPLYING to your story. It’s the ultimate signal that your story is engaging.

When the algorithm sees that your story is getting replies, it takes notice. It's like waving a big ol' flag that says, "Hey, this story is super engaging!" And what does the algorithm do in response? It pushes your story closer to the front of your other followers' stories—the ones who might not normally watch yours.

What kinda things should you ask your followers to reply for?

  • Freebies

  • Step-by-step instructions

  • Resources: link to a tool you use, or a book you’re ready, or a course you’re taking

  • Quick tips or hacks for epic results

And always remember: when you send them the resource, also link to something you sell that can help them further. You should be selling every day, and this is a nice “soft” way to sell. Provide value, then present the offer.

How is this different to the original post I saw about this strategy?

You might want to try her strategy too! (I don’t remember who posted this because it was on my explore page or else I would link to her.)

She posted a story about why entrepreneurs are different levels should be using a DIFFERENT email marketing strategy.

She wrote out 3 levels of entrepreneurship, called them A, B & C. Then she asked people to reply with the category they fit in (A,B or C) and she’d send them the specific strategy they should be using.

She gained 2000+ replies.

Why does your story (and your story views) matter? Why not just focus on your feed content instead of your story?

According to Iconosquare, the average engagement rate by followers on Instagram is 4.7%. “Other studies have found the average engagement rate to be 1.22% and 4.59%. These statistics are averages and vary from industry to industry.”

This means only 4.7% of your followers are engaging.

Yet they followed you for a reason. So yes, we should absolutely post consistently to our feeds to attract new non-followers and grow our audience. But we shouldn’t forget the people who have already chosen to follow us. They followed you because you have something they’re interested in! They’re a goldmine of potential clients and customers.

So one way to re-engage them is through increasing your IG story replies and thus getting more of your followers to watch your story.

The cool thing is: if someone watches your story for the first time in a while and finds it valuable, they’ll keep watching!

So, there you have it. A simple yet powerful strategy to explode your Instagram story views.

This info came from my masterclass, Story Sprint, which teaches you how to batch 1 month of stories in 1 day and exactly what to say on your stories to turn viewers into buyers.

How to Create 1 MONTH of Instagram Content in 1 DAY

So you’re a freelance web designer, VA, copywriter, social media manager, or other kind of online service provider and you want to get clients from Instagram.

You’ve heard about how I gained 10 clients, countless course sales and 7000 new followers by posting consistently again on my dead business account for the last 6 months.

You’ve even heard about how a student of mine got 3 new retainer clients from Instagram just by (a) implementing the niche + messaging module of my program to make her messaging more specific, and (b) posting consistently on Instagram for 6 weeks. (For her, that’s $2400 extra each month btw!)

But…

Do you find yourself spending hours each day trying to come up with new ideas for posts, only to feel overwhelmed and burnt out? Like you’re running on a never-ending hamster wheel?

Are you struggling with managing your online business on Instagram? Do you find yourself overwhelmed and burnt out by the constant demand for content creation? Perhaps you haven't even started your business yet, but the thought of marketing on IG feels daunting.

Identifying the Struggle

  • Feeling the pressure to stay consistent on Instagram, but finding it incredibly challenging.

  • Struggling to come up with engaging content ideas and resorting to last-minute posts.

  • Spending hours crafting a single post only to get 5 likes, 3 unfollows and 0 clients.

Does any of this sound familiar? If so, you're not alone. Many online service providers face similar challenges when it comes to managing their presence on Instagram.

The Real Solution

Jumping ship to another marketing platform might seem tempting, but the truth is, marketing requires effort, consistency, and patience, regardless of the platform. Instead of seeking instant results, it's time to focus on sustainable solutions.

Sustainable Strategies:

  1. Establish a Consistent Posting Schedule: Avoid burnout by maintaining a sustainable posting routine that doesn't compromise your well-being.

  2. Embrace Content Batching: Create 1 month's worth of content in just 1 day. Imagine only needing to focus on Instagram content creation 12 times a year!

Introducing: The Content Batching Blueprint

Yesterday, I launched a new digital product designed to address these exact challenges: The Content Batching Blueprint.

What is The Content Batching Blueprint?

It's a 30-minute video training accompanied by templates, ready-made processes, and plug-and-play content ideas. This blueprint empowers you to batch a month's worth of IG content in just one day or spread across three days, depending on your preference.

What you'll learn:

  • Efficient content batching techniques to save time and energy.

  • Sustainable posting schedules to prevent burnout.

  • Recommended tools to streamline your content creation process.

  • Strategies for repurposing content to maximize engagement.

You’ll also get:

  • Content Batching Checklists (1-day and 3-day options).

  • Content Calendar Template.

  • The Repurposing Guide.

  • The B-Roll Shot List.

Templates available in Notion, Google Sheets, and CSV formats!

“Can I really create 1 month of content in 1 day?!”

Your initial content batch may require additional time to set up systems and materials outlined in the blueprint.

The blueprint includes a 1-day process and a 3-day process. But it might take you longer depending on your circumstances and content creation experience. Take as long as you need! Even if you can only batch 2 weeks of content, it’s better to batch 2 weeks of it than think of something to post each day.

Article

In today's episode, we're diving into a topic that can simplify AND skyrocket your Instagram marketing game: batching your content.

You might be wondering, what exactly is batching and why is it so crucial for your Instagram strategy? You’ve heard me talk a lot lately about Instagram, finding a sustainable posting schedule for you, and how batching your content can make it 10x easier to stay consistent on Instagram without feeling like you’re stuck on a content creation hamster wheel.

Well, let's break it down.

Batching is the process of creating multiple pieces of content in one sitting, rather than creating content on a day-to-day basis. It's like cooking a week's worth of meals in one go, saving you time and energy throughout the week. And when it comes to Instagram, batching can be a game-changer.

Here's why:

  1. Batching allows for consistency. When you sit down to create content in bulk, you ensure that your posts maintain a consistent theme, style, and message. This consistency not only strengthens your brand identity but also keeps your audience engaged and coming back for more.

  2. Secondly, batching saves time. By dedicating a chunk of time to create content, you eliminate the need to constantly switch gears between content creation and other tasks. This focused approach not only increases productivity but also frees up valuable time to focus on other aspects of your business.

  3. Thirdly, batching enhances creativity. When you're in the flow of content creation, ideas tend to flow more freely. By batching your content, you can tap into this creative momentum and explore new ideas and formats, resulting in more engaging and innovative posts for your audience.

  4. I helps keep your content strategic. When you plan and create content in batches, you have the opportunity to align your posts with your overall business goals and marketing objectives. This strategic approach ensures that every piece of content serves a purpose and contributes to your business's growth and success.

(By the way: I’m releasing a new product called The Content Batching Blueprint soon which will help you batch 1 month of content in 1 day. Join the waitlist >>)

So, how can you start batching your Instagram content?

Well, here are some practical tips to get you started:

  1. Plan ahead: Take some time to outline your content themes, topics, and objectives for the upcoming weeks or months.

  2. Create templates: Develop templates for your captions, graphics, and other visual elements to streamline the content creation process.

  3. Set aside dedicated time: Block out specific time slots in your schedule for content creation, and treat it as you would any other important task.

  4. Stay organized: Use tools like content calendars or project management apps to keep track of your content ideas, schedules, and deadlines.

  5. Batch in batches: Break down your content creation process into smaller batches, focusing on one aspect at a time (e.g., writing captions, designing graphics, scheduling posts).

By implementing these strategies, you can harness the power of batching to level up your Instagram game, post consistently, and start attracting consistent clients.

Ever feel like you're pouring your heart and soul into Instagram, only to get a handful of likes and a couple of unfollows in return? Trust me, I've been there. The struggle is real, and it's easy to question if it's all worth it.

In this week's episode, I'm peeling back the layers of my Instagram journey over the past six months.

I’ve been posting for 11 years but in 2023 I took a break for a few months. I probably posted about once a month during that time (but I showed up on stories about 4x a week.) As a result, it reeeeally damaged my reach when I returned!

In August/September, I made a conscious decision to prioritize consistent posting on Instagram, and I’m pleased with the results!

I hope this encourages you - whether you have a dead account or you’re starting a new one.

Results

  • 10 Clients

  • (Unknown number of course sales)

  • 7000 New Followers

  • 1303+ New Email Subscribers

  • Over 100 Sign-ups to the waitlist for The Content Batching Blueprint, from just a couple of posts and stories so far.

Client Success Story:

One of my students experienced a significant breakthrough after getting more specific with her messaging and then posting consistently for 6 weeks.

Within 6 weeks of consistent posting on Instagram, she secured 3 new retainer clients adding an extra $2400 to her income per month, and booked discovery calls with 3 more potential clients too!

Why Consistency Matters:

  1. Establishes reliability: Consistent posting establishes your presence and reliability on the platform, showing your audience that you're committed to providing value regularly. Subconsciously, this signals trustworthiness.

  2. Increases Visibility: The Instagram algorithm favors accounts that post consistently, boosting your chances of appearing in your followers' feeds and reaching new audiences. I’ve noticed recently that my posts reach is increasing overall, and engagement has been good even on lower performing posts.

  3. Strengthens Brand Identity: Regular posting allows you to reinforce your brand message, aesthetic, and values, making your brand more recognizable and memorable to your audience. Think about the last person you considered buying from. The last person I thought about buying from appearing in my feed every day with her story, her post, or both.

  4. Engagement and Community Building: Consistent posting encourages engagement from your followers, leading to conversations, comments, and shares. This engagement helps foster a sense of community around your brand. Building a community is important - it produces repeat clients, true fans, and even when some of them might never buy from you, they’ll often support you in other ways like sharing your content or engaging with it. I have people in my community who have been here for 8-11 years and still hire me as their coach and join my products and programs. When you build a community on IG, you’re investing in building an audience who will CONTINUALLY invest in YOU.

  5. Increases your chance of getting clients and sales: The more you can be seen on IG, the more chance you have of someone hiring you from your content. This doesn’t mean you need to post every day or multi times a day, but you also shouldn’t just post once or twice here and there. A lot of my clients reach for a happy medium, like 4 or 5 posts a week, sometimes 3. And with my content batching system, you can create all of these posts in 1 day each month. That means you only sit down to create IG content 12 times a year. Then set it and almost forget it.

  6. Opportunity for Experimentation and Learning: Regular posting allows you to experiment with different content types, captions, hooks, content anchors and content pillars - providing valuable insights into what resonates best with your audience.

  7. Consistent Growth: By posting consistently, you steadily start attracting new followers and expanding your reach over time. Because the more consistent you are, the more you learn about what your audience does and does not like. And with every lesson you learn, you can apply it to create more and better content.

The Solution: the Content Batching Blueprint

On March 21st, I'm launching The Content Batching Blueprint, a video training + templates designed to help you batch 1 month of IG content in just 1 day.

There's also a 3-day option for those who prefer to spread out the tasks.

  • Inside CBB, you'll receive:

    • 30 days of plug’n’play viral hooks

    • A sustainable posting schedule

    • 1-day and 3-day content batching checklists

Cracking the Consistency Code on Instagram: A Guide to Staying Sane

Ah, consistency – the dreaded C word that sends shivers down the spines of many online business owners. It's a common tale: dive into an Instagram marketing strategy, wait for the viral posts, expect the cash flow, and when it doesn't happen overnight, throw in the towel. The disappointment sets in, the energy drains, and the dream of a thriving online business takes a hit.

In today's episode, let's tackle this elusive consistency on Instagram – how to achieve it without burning out and without letting content control your life.

Before we dive in, don't forget to check out the link in the description for my free guide on turning followers into consistent clients and unlocking the secret to 5-10k months with just 3-day work weeks.

Now, let's set the record straight – this isn't a quick fix. Running a business, especially in the realm of marketing, is not a walk in the park. It's challenging, and that's what makes it rewarding. If you're expecting results without putting in the work, the traditional nine-to-five might be a better fit. However, in the online business world, we can simplify things and work smarter, not harder, even though hard work is inevitable.

The Reality Check: Stress and Burnout

Stress and burnout are part of the human experience, just like facing challenges is an integral part of business. You can't live in stress, but you can't avoid seasons of it. Embrace it as a phase, not a permanent state. Now, let's explore how to make consistent posting on Instagram a bit more manageable.

Disclaimer: This episode won't magically make posting easy, but it will provide practical tips to simplify the process.

How to Post Consistently on Instagram without Burning Out

  1. Content Batching System: Design a system that works for you – whether it's one day a month, three days a month, or even seven mornings a month dedicated to creating content. By spending focused time, you can create content for the entire month, saving energy and eliminating daily content creation stress. Even stories can be batched using certain scheduling apps.

CTA: Interested in mastering the art of content batching? Check out my guidebook – The Content Batching Blueprint – and learn how to batch one month of Instagram content in just three days.

  2. No Beating Yourself Up: Your system is a tool, not a stick to beat yourself with. If you only manage to batch two weeks of content instead of a full month, that's still a win. The key is that having a system will help you accomplish more than without one. Don't stress about perfection; focus on progress.

  3. Sustainable Schedule: Find a posting schedule that you can sustainably stick to. The sweet spot might be around four posts a week, but the crucial factor is consistency. If you can post more, fantastic! If not, work with what you have.

CTA: Speaking of consistency, I'm transforming my mastermind program, The Simple Business Builder, into a self-study course. Join the waitlist below for an exclusive bonus when doors open.

  4. Repurpose Your Wins: Make your life easier by repurposing old, high-performing content. It's okay to repeat yourself; in fact, it reinforces your key messages. Repurposing saves time and provides value to new followers without the constant need for new content creation.

  5. Consistent, Not Constant: Understand that consistent doesn't mean constant. As long as you're on the ball more often than not, you're on the right track.

Remember, the journey to consistent posting on Instagram may not be a walk in the park, but with the right strategies, you can make it a manageable and rewarding process. Until next time, happy posting!
