Most popular post published in Jan: The ultimate guide to creating a monthly subscription

My top 3 traffic referrers: Direct, Pinterest, Twitter & Facebook.

This month is the highest website traffic I've had in a while. I'm delighted to see that my website statistics are increasing each month! I think it's down to blogging consistently, improving my social media presence and also making more friends who spread the word about my blog. Creating a community and making business buddies really does help you grow your business (and maintain your sanity!)

I did two webinars this month: one with Caitlin Bacher and one with Jamie from Spruce Rd. I think the webinars really helped me grow my website traffic. Webinars can take a lot of effort but they seriously pay off!

Number of subscribers: 3721 (+659)

Most popular opt-ins: The joint webinar I did with Caitlin Bacher. (You can watch the replay here!)

When you do a joint webinar with someone, you each create an identical opt-in page that links to your list. Then you trade links, so you promote her opt-in and she promotes yours. That means she gets subscribers from you and you get subscribers from her.

See the first burst of new subscribers from Feb 1st to Feb 6th? That's from Caitlin. I gained 742 subscribers in 4 days JUST from Caitlin promoting our joint webinar to her audience. I was really blown away by that. It shows the power webinars have: they not only convert well in terms of sales, but they also increase your list really quickly.

See the other burst of new subscribers on Feb 23rd to 25th? Those are the new subscribers I gained from my Lunch & Learn webinar with Jamie of Spruce Rd.

This month has been the busiest month I've had in a long time. I've done two webinars, pre-launched a book and done client work. I won't force myself to take on a month this busy again because it was craaazy, but I've enjoyed it.

This month I pre-launched my ebook, Social Splash. At the time of writing this (Feb 22nd) I've sold 30 individual copies and made £2417 from the webinar. In total, I've made £2867. By the time March 1st comes around, I'll have probably made about 3k.

I'm not going crazy over those figures, but I'm also not disappointed. Writing and promoting a book is HARD. I mean, reeeeeeally hard. Harder than I ever realized it could be. I'm happy I've made a decent amount of work from it, but it made me realize that dropping my freelance services to focus on creating products is NOT for me.

It also made me appreciate my client work more than I have in a while. I seriously love the clients I have right now, I love their projects, and I love the work I get to do for them. I don't want to replace that with products. Instead, I'm going to be creating products AND freelancing, but freelancing will be my priority. My products will simply be a good boost to my income and they'll support me when I'm travelling and can't take on client work.

Can you believe it's March already?! This year is flying by!

1. Focus on my clients. Now that I'm done creating and promoting my ebook, I'm going to give my clients my full attention.

2. Launch an extended version of my free Brand Discovery course. My free course goes down really well, and it's something I'm really proud of. That's why I'm going to create about 5 more lessons to add to the six existing lessons. When my subscribers get to lessons 6, they can pay $10 to access the extra lessons if they need to learn more. It's a nice little way of monetizing my course and earning a bit of pocket money without having to do a big launch. If I don't get this done this month, I'm not fussed, but it would be nice.

3. Chill. I've been going at full-speed this month and now I'm pretty tired. I find it really hard to just chill and NOT work, but I'm going to force myself to chill out this month. There will always be more to do, and I have my whole life to do it.

To summarize, I've learned what I don't want. I don't want to be an infopreneur only. I don't want to do weekly Periscopes. I don't want to write another ebook.

It's not that I don't enjoy those things- I do. But they take so much energy that I swiftly realized I don't want to do them, or I want to do them in moderation.

Ladyboss League: I started reading Summer's blog last week and I was hooked. Her blog posts are sooooo informative and packed with screenshots. Her webinars are always on-point. And- she's a great example to new business owners that you CAN create a successful biz in under a year.

Stress Less & Impress*: I went through one of the lessons in this course again today and it felt like such a refresher. If you're a freelancer like me who LOVES systems, this is for you. It's the perfect course to help you set up processes and systems with your clients.

Boardbooster*: I've been using Boardbooster for a few months now and I can handsdown say it's one of the best business investments I make each month. I looked at my Pinterest stats last week and saw my following is growing by 15% each month, probably more now, and I'm getting tons of traffic from there. It's amazing for my blog and business.

There are obviously other products available like these, but these are products I love and they are my recommendations based on my own experience. If you do purchase through my affiliate link, thanks so much for your support!
